New York's largest holiday festival, Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square, features free entertainment, family fun, outdoor food tastings and more, and begins with Lincoln Square's Upper West Side tree lighting ceremony at Dante Park. 

 

The event takes place on Monday, December 2 from 5:30pm - 9:00pm (rain or shine!) in public spaces, in select indoor venues and along the sidewalks of Lincoln Square, the gateway to the Upper West Side, from The Shops at Columbus Circle to 70th Street - on and around Broadway.

Created in 2000, Winter’s Eve is a unique, neighborhood holiday celebration that draws upwards of 25,000 people and features free entertainment and live music at over 20 performance venues, food tastings from 30+ of the area’s finest restaurants and eateries, shopping and more. 
 New York Cares is the official charitable partner of the 
20th Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square. New York Cares is a nonprofit organization focused on mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service, and they run the City’s largest winter coat drive which has distributed more than 2 million coats over the years.
On Winter's Eve, attendees are encouraged to donate a new or gently used coat at Dante Park (Broadway & 63rd Street) to support the New York Cares Coat Drive.
